About Me

Trip Reflections

When my parents and I take trips, we like to have a way to remember the vacation. This started in Spring 2010 when we drove to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and back; I made a family scrapbook reflecting this adventure.

I have been making travel books and albums for serveral trips since. Some of my favorite ones have included exploring New England (scrapbook); Las Vegas, Utah National Parks, and Arizona (photo album); Canada (blog report); and Spain and Portugal (photo book).

Personal Narrative

Three years ago, many of my friends were beginning to drive. I had my field of vision test on March 6, 2017, and my opthalmologist said, "Dylan, due to limited peripheral vision, you are not able to drive."

While this was tough to swallow, I woke up the next morning with a different mindset. What new ways can I get around, either using local transit or riding with other friends?, I thought, not wanting to make an issue. That inspired me to use Metro Transit around the Twin Cities. I quickly enjoyed using Metro Transit; I used it to get downtown every day for internship training, among many other things, and it gave me a greater sense of independence.

Yes, I still think about not driving at times. However, between using my bike and Metro Transit often, I have learned to adapt to not being able to get a license. And I've enjoyed both my bike and Metro Transit for getting around very much.
